Cast Resin Coil (HV Winding)

Vacuum-cast under precisely controlled conditions. Copper wire windings are embedded in epoxy resin with silica filler, then cured in an oven cycle. The result is a void-free insulation system with high mechanical strength and thermal conductivity. The cast resin surface is self-extinguishing (F1) and hydrophobic — it will not support combustion or absorb moisture in tropical environments.

CRGO Silicon Steel Core

Cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel laminations (0.23–0.30 mm thick) assembled with step-lap mitered joints. This construction minimizes no-load losses and magnetostrictive noise. The core is clamped with channel-section steel frames and bolted to the base.

Cooling System

Natural air cooling (AN) via vertical air ducts between the coils and core limbs. Air enters at the bottom, rises through the ducts, and exits at the top, carrying heat away from the windings. Optional forced air cooling (AF) with axial fans increases rated capacity by approximately 40%.

Terminations & Accessories

HV side: porcelain bushings with copper connection straps. LV side: foil-type copper terminals. An off-circuit tap changer (±5%) is fitted on the HV side. PT100 resistance temperature detectors are embedded in each phase coil for connection to a digital temperature controller.

Enclosure Options

IP00 (open operation), IP20 (touch-safe screen), IP23 (drip-proof), IP40 (indoor enclosed), or IP54 (outdoor with weather protection). Enclosures are fabricated from sheet steel with a two-coat polyester powder finish.

Cast-resin dry-type transformers offer measurable advantages in safety, maintenance, and lifecycle cost — particularly for indoor and populated installations.

Zero Fire Risk

No oil — no fire propagation, no explosion hazard, no toxic fumes. Epoxy resin is self-extinguishing (F1). Suitable for indoor installation in hospitals, airports, shopping centres.

IEC 60076-11

Negligible Maintenance

No oil filtering, no dielectric tests, no leak inspection. Annual visual inspection of dust accumulation on cooling ducts. Lower total cost of ownership over 25+ years.

Tropical Climate Rated

Epoxy cast coils are hydrophobic — they will not absorb moisture even at 95% RH. No condensation tracking. Proven 30-year service life in Southeast Asian climates.

Compact, Indoor Installation

Install directly inside buildings, next to load centres. No separate transformer room, no fire walls, no oil containment pits required. Reduces civil construction costs.

High Overload Capacity

140% continuous with forced air cooling (AF fans). 170% short-term emergency overload. Thermal class F (155°C) or H (180°C) insulation allows significant headroom.

Environmentally Responsible

Zero oil — no soil or water contamination risk. Epoxy resin is inert at end of life. Core steel and copper windings are 100% recyclable. RoHS and WEEE compliant.
